Before this week's lecture and reading, my reaction to the term "confrontation" was extremely negative. When you think of the word "confrontation" you think of feelings that come with being or acting reviled. Your reaction to such a term almost immediately puts up your guard and makes you defensive and I think this is probably true for most people. However, when not thinking reflexively, I've always kind of liked the process (well, maybe not the process but the application and effect) of confrontation. To be totally honest, I think well of both giving and receiving it.
